No dead capital in January

Seasonal Christmas items have an annoying characteristic: what you don't sell before the holidays stays until next year. That's money sitting in a box in the attic instead of in the till. With the right purchasing method, that doesn't have to be the case.

The risk of seasonal items lies in the timing

With a regular product, you can reorder if it's selling well and stop if it's not. With Christmas items, you can't. The season is short, the supply chain is long, and in January, demand is gone. Over-purchasing means markdowns or storage. Under-purchasing means an empty shelf at the busiest time.

This makes the purchasing decision more difficult than for the rest of your assortment. You not only choose what, but also how much, and all at once.

Pre-ordering shifts the risk to the right side

With a pre-order, you order before the production run is made. You specify what you want, and that quantity will be delivered. No gambling on a container that might be too large, but a conscious choice per box.

Kechballen has one production run per year. You order in the summer and receive delivery in the autumn, late September or October. So you know exactly what's coming and when, before the season begins.

Starting small is possible, one box is enough

You don't have to take a big risk all at once. Delivery is per box, with a minimum of one. This means you can test a new brand without committing to a mountain of inventory.

If it sells well, you'll know for next year. If it sells less, you won't have a pallet of unsold balls that you have to discount in January. The risk remains small and in your hands.
